Problem I've come across is I'm getting no proper B+ ? I'm using the 5V4 rectifier and 2 choke schematic. I have pulled my rectifier and find the AC side seems good voltage wise, I'm not sure if I bought a bad rectifier ( bought as testing new?) , or maybe my build has an issue and is shorting one side of the rectifier?? My tester shows it as basically dead on one half but that was after I realized I had ps issues. I never checked it when I first bought it... Also the fuse did blow when testing. What is my best method of troubleshooting this? Looking at the listing of this tube, it was listed as testing 95% one side and 94% on the other. I'm kinda feeling like like my build is the culprit here. I have visually gone over all the connections and can't see anything out of place or wiring that's mixed up....
I have built and serviced tube gear in the past but this problem is a new one for me .
I'm finding that using this rectifier , I need to dial the AC voltage to around 118 ACV to get the desired plate voltage and to keep the heater voltage right at 6.3acv. I can live with that for sure!!
Sounding pretty damn nice with EH EL34 tubes.
Thanks Stephe for all the guidance in the vids!!
