Thanks R. A. (Bob) Moore and Marty Burton for your replies. I think I want to do the mods, but have one more question. I'm trying to get an idea of what the 300b tube brings to the table. I keep reading it's a warm, lush, seductive midrange with pleasing even harmonic overtones. I'm planning to run the amp for the high end in a bi-amped system with an active crossover at 500hz to an ATM tweeter. I'm imagining it would be a good match, but I'd like to hear some opinions. I'm also looking for somebody to actually do the mods, for a nominal fee. My hands are too unsteady for soldering...
