Hi,
this is my first post and a question for all the transformer experts on this forum:
I own multiple vintage Ensoniq ASR-10 keyboard samplers, which have built in power transformers. These transformers are on their way out, they are humming and vibrating more and more and are known to fail at some point.
As there are no 230V version used replacement transformers (I'm based in Europe) available on Ebay or elsewhere, the original Italian manufacturer is defunct and all repair specialists in my area won't accept new repair orders before mid 2024, I thought of scouting large online suppiers of electronics parts for a suitable replacement.
I plan to find a transformer that has the same or smaller dimensions and delivers the specified voltages taken from the service manual, image attached.
Am I on the right track or am I missing something important that should be considered when shopping for a replacement transformer?
Thanks for any help, greetings from Austria.
Syru
As important as the voltages are, you will also need to know the current needs on each of these rails.
I did see a YouTube video on restoring noisy power transformers, like when they get buzzy from the laminations vibrating. That might be another option.
