OK. I just finished all of the parts replacement and wiring mods up through the front end. I have not done the bias boards.
When I power up and all my front end tubes power up, The KT88 power up and are perfectly biased.
But I only get sound on only one speaker. If I swap speaker leads the sound goes to the other speaker. So both speakers are good. But I can't get them both playing at the same time. Is there something in the parts upgrade work or wiring mods that would not give me power to both speakers.
This is where I get stumped.
Does any of this sound familiar to anyone?
Mike.
Maybe some close up pictures of what you have done will help me spot the problem? And how much did you change before you tried it out? I'm sure we can figure this out!
Did you check all the new components before putting them into the amp? Perhaps one was faulty?
And Stephe. I was wrong. I am an idiot. I thought decades of turning bags of parts, twisted wire, pots, caps, switches and valves into absolutely beautiful sounding guitar amps would allow me to follow some really great videos from you and turn a lump of coal into gold. I was wrong. Undoing other peoples crappy parts and bad designs is something I've never had to do. Hope this can get figured out or I'll just have to stick to following Leo Fender and his great designs and keep putting them in the hands of other musicians.
