The aluminum plate is 3/8" thick. First I traced the layout with a center punch and flipped the layout for a mirrored layout. I use carbide hole drill- one like photo. After all drilling are done I sanded the edges and top of plate with orbital sander. The sanding in quick, no need to go gentle with the sander. Finished with a clear metal protacttion coat.
Is this based on the 300B DIY budget amp, thrown into two separate boxes? They look amazing, I like that everything is mounted off the top alu plate! Congratulation!
If you were to have an output transformer custom make for this amp. What would be a good compromise specs? I am guessing somewhere between 3.5k - 5k and 20w.
I love the aesthetic of these monoblocks. Can you describe how you made those aluminum top plates?
Thanks, mirrored monoblocks looks nicer to me.
Yes the 300b monoblocks are based on the budget amp.
