Got hold of a Discovery 1 for £150. Goes down to 0.01% distortion. Would recommend! If you can find a mark 1 then go for it. Some Colleges get rid of old stock for very little £££!
I was thinking of picking one up myself, but I have been dissapointed with the resolution with other solutions. They sort of stop at 0.1% distortion which I suppose is OK for valve amps but not really good enough for solid state. What do you get from this Audio analyser suite?
Yeah, I wouldn't claim the exact % are "calibrated" lab accurate, but for comparing pieces of gear and finding problems/seeing what changes do, it's fantastic!
Thank you. For me it is pretty expensive - over $1,000 here in Australia. Some claim REW can be used but AudioAnalyser seems easier. Just have to justify the $$$$
A potential alternative at reasonable cost: QA403 Audio Analyzer – QuantAsylum
