I'm finding that using this rectifier , I need to dial the AC voltage to around 118 ACV to get the desired plate voltage and to keep the heater voltage right at 6.3acv. I can live with that for sure!! Sounding pretty damn nice with EH EL34 tubes. Thanks Stephe for all the guidance in the vids!!

The choke was actually shorting on the wires inside.... I had to fix the insulated case and remount as normal.... All good in the hood!!

I figured this part out .. I had this choke mounted to the side of the case and I guess because the room is very tight I pushed the choke against one of the screws that hold the on-top mounted choke and punctured the case and this was shorting on the chokes lamination wires!! I taped the puncture up and remounted this choke a little bit further away and I'm all better now!!

Ok, just a follow up... The rectifier tube I purchased was shorted on one side but for some reason when I attach my second choke to the chassis it shorts out my b+? I've isolated it with some plastic washers and I'm getting very close voltages using a 5U4G and a bucking transformer. Sounding really nice and very quiet!!

Ok .. I used a 5U4G as a test and it seems to be working, although I have pulled the second choke and cap outta circuit. I was checking the circuit for shorts and discovered the second choke was grounding out my positive line in the power supply? Does this choke need to be isolated from chassis similar to the power transformer?

@Skunkie I will be using the second choke as well. No biggie! I have ordered myself the better tube here!

@Skunkie I bought the same parts as in your BOM. I suppose buying a new rectifier is no big deal.
